TERENCE SCHECKTER
President and Chief Executive Officer
Terence is the founder and CEO of CheckerProp, a real estate investment and development company. Terence has overseen the acquisition and management of over 2,000,000 square feet of commercial real estate across the United States.
Terence has also led several successful building renovation projects as well as multiple residential ground up developments. As the CEO of CheckerProp, Terence has grown the company to over 30+ assets in 11 different states, totaling over 2,000,000 square feet under management. Terence also founded TSW alloy wheels in 1991. Terence led TSW to become one of the largest makers of custom wheels in the United States.
In 2020 TSW was sold to Wheel Pros, the largest aftermarket wheel company in the world. Prior to founding TSW, Terence was a corporate finance consultant at Deloitte and Touché in Johannesburg, South Africa. Terence has Bachelor of Business Science degree from the University of Cape Town and has completed the Owner President Management program at Harvard University.
MICHAEL VOSS
Portfolio Manager
Michael Voss has over 25 years as a leader and professional in the real estate and hospitality industry.
The past 10 years have been focused on acquisitions, dispositions, financing, and management of the CheckerProp real estate portfolio, focused primarily on industrial properties. This has involved a hands-on approach at every level as the portfolio has grown and properties added nationwide.
Prior experience includes positions with industry leaders such as The Related Companies and Hines.
Michael has Majors in Economics and Accounting as well as a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Cape Town. He is also the current Chairman of Selection Panel for USA Cricket.
NICOLE LANGFORD
Property Manager
Nicole, a licensed CA real estate agent, has a 7-year career in commercial real estate, multi-family, and construction management with a track record of managing over 45 commercial buildings nationwide totaling over 3,000,000 sq. ft. and managing over 1,000 apartments throughout California.
Prior to CheckerProp, she worked for Rich Uncles as a Property Manager overseeing the management of industrial, office, and retail properties.
Prior to that, she worked for The Irvine Company in the Corporate Housing Division where she had obtained a career recognition award for Culture Initiatives. She values the culture setting and continues to join in various programs including becoming Chair for Humanitarians Committee.
Nicole enjoys spending her free time doing physical activities around Southern California. She continues to be active in sports growing up playing competitive soccer earning multiple scholarships.
MICHELLE SANCHEZ
Property Manager
Born and raised in New Mexico, Michelle moved to California in 2010 to pursue a career in real estate. She studied Interior Design at the NewSchool of Architecture & Design in San Diego while working as a licensed CA real estate agent for a boutique residential brokerage that specialized in renovating properties for homeowners prior to sale in efforts to maximize the sales price.
She has been responsible for all aspects of renovating properties from space planning, concept development, selection of finishes, furnishings, construction administration, and project management. Her work in interior decorating has been featured in leading design and lifestyle publications. At CheckerProp, Michelle is a property manager where she oversees our portfolio of industrial, office, residential properties along with overseeing the design and construction management of our new developments.
She enjoys building relationships and the creativity involved in what she does. “I believe our properties create emotions, and that’s how spaces are perceived and remembered,” Sanchez says.
ASIF KAZI
Construction Manager
An Entrepreneurial leader and a problem solver, Mr. Kazi has over 20 years of experience in facility operations/management, construction management and has an extensive knowledge of commercial real estate due diligence and regulatory compliance (Fire/Life/Safety, Environmental Real Estate Laws, Americans with Disability Act, OSHPD, OSHA, and Uniform Building Codes).
Mr. Kazi has professional construction management experience in all phases of construction projects. He has worked on new, ground-up projects and extensive building renovation work. Projects include commercial high-rise buildings, hospitals (OSHPD), senior housing, medical office buildings, industrial warehouse, large E Commerce distribution/fulfillment centers, large data centers, sports stadiums, high end retail/entertainment, and luxury residential buildings.
Past companies Mr. Kazi has worked for are Marriott Hotels, CB Richard Ellis (CBRE), and Nationwide Health Properties/Ventas. Prior clients include CBRE, Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL), Bureau Veritas, Amazon, and Blackstone.
Mr. Kazi obtained his undergraduate degree in Business Administration at California State University Fullerton and completed coursework at UCLA – Anderson School of Management in Real Estate Finance and Development.
Mr. Kazi enjoys skiing with his twin boys and spending time with his family.
DENNIS DART
In-House Legal Counsel
Dennis has extensive experience in commercial real estate transactions, lending, development, and property management throughout the 35-years of his legal career. Prior experience has been in private legal practice and as in-house legal counsel for Heitman International, a major institutional commercial real estate investment manager, and HB Reavis, an international real estate developer. He has participated in marketing and underwriting large-ticket title insurance risks for Lloyds of London.
He has supported all facets of legal due diligence, document drafting, and review for commercial real estate acquisitions, financings, operations, and dispositions. He excels in interpreting relevant Federal legislation and regulations and State and Local laws to successfully address the challenges faced by Investors, Operators, Managers and Owners of properties. Dennis has participated in transacting over $5 billion worth of real estate transactions.
Dennis has Juris Doctor and Master of Laws degrees from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law and is a member of the State Bar of California. He enjoys creating valuable partnerships and works well with people at all levels of the organization, including stakeholders, customers, and vendors.
Past companies Dennis has worked for are Heitman, Europe; Peakside Capital, Poland; KSP Real Estate Investment Management, Poland; Commonwealth Property Investors, Russia; United States Peace Corps, Russia; Togliatti International Academy of Business & Banking, Russia; and The Bleier Law Firm, CA.
Dennis enjoys the outdoors with his family as much as possible including skiing, the beach, biking, and walking.
CINDY BAKER
Accounting Manager
Cindy is a Central Valley native who more recently moved to Southern California.
Cindy holds a Bachelor of Business Science degree from California State University, Fresno in Accounting. After obtaining her degree, she relocated to Aliso Viejo and began her career with LBA Realty, Inc. as a Fund Accountant. There she gained experience in commercial real estate accounting.
She then moved onto working in the Private Equity sector with Apex Group, Ltd. as an Associate in Alternative Assets furthering her experience in investment accounting.
Aside from being an accountant, Cindy is also a mother and a wife and enjoys spending her free time with her family.
